Who we are/Contact Info
Welcome to the Seventh Star Network at https://www.seventh-star.net. It is owned and operated by Azurite, who you can reach using the contact form on the main page, or by emailing azurite [at] seventh-star [dot] net.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Some of the sites on the Seventh Star Network are known as “fanlistings,” and collect the following (required) information from users who sign up for the site:
- Username
- Email Address
- Country
Additional information can be provided at the discretion of the user. No information is retained from site visitors or members who are not logged in. Users can alter or remove their information at any time. Users who chose to delete their information from any Seventh Star Network site can delete their account and be completely removed from the site’s content and history.
This information is only used to register users of the website, email them for website-related concerns (such as updates, password changes, or a change in ownership of the site), and display members-only information to logged-in users. This information is not shared with any third parties, including TheFanlistings.org or AnimeFanlistings.com, but is collected to be in compliance with the rules of those sites (where a Seventh Star Network site is a member).
Personal data may be collected from contact forms, comments, analytics plugins, and plugins that embed data from other websites. Please read on for additional details.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Akismet
We collect information about visitors who comment on Sites that use our Akismet anti-spam service. The information we collect depends on how the User sets up Akismet for the Site, but typically includes the commenter’s IP address, user agent, referrer, and Site URL (along with other information directly provided by the commenter such as their name, username, email address, and the comment itself).
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Seventh-Star Network uses the plugin Smush from WPMU Dev. Smush sends images to the WPMU DEV servers to optimize them for web use. This includes the transfer of EXIF data. The EXIF data will either be stripped or returned as it is. It is not stored on the WPMU DEV servers.
Contact forms
Various sites on the Seventh Star Network utilize contact forms, typically provided by the Contact Form 7 plugin. The plugin is created by Rock Lobster, LLC, and their privacy policy is located here.
Most contact forms used on the Seventh Star Network sites ask for a name or username, email address, categories for inquiry, and a message area. The sites on the Network aim to collect as little user information as possible to assist users or to troubleshoot site problems. Contact form submissions are kept for customer service purposes, but are never used for marketing purposes.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
This site might be using cookies on the admin side for establishing connections with third-party vendors for sending and receiving backups. These vendors include Google Drive, Dropbox and WPMU DEV. Additionally, cookies may be set for potentially fixing cron requests at erratic servers. These cookies will last for 14 days.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if you visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Analytics
Sites on the Seventh Star Network may utilize Google Analytics (privacy policy) in conjunction with Yoast SEO (privacy policy) alongside Ryte (privacy policy) and Monster Insights (privacy policy) to help track visitor information. This information is used to improve the sites and services offered throughout the Network, in ways including (but not limited to):
- Fixing broken/missing pages (404s)
- Creating responsive content that displays the same on devices with different browsers, screen sizes, and resolutions
- Improve the content on existing pages to encourage repeat visits, or longer visits on individual pages
You are under no obligation whatsoever to provide your data to Google Analytics via any site on the Seventh Star Network, and may opt out through use of a browser extension such as an ad-blocker to prevent the transmission of data. You will still be able to view, login, and participate in all other areas of the site.
Who we share your data with
By default WordPress does not share any personal data with anyone. However, in order to operate, promote, and maintain the website, the Seventh Star Network does utilize the following sites or services and may share some or all of your user data with them:
Snapshot
Third parties
This site may be using a third-party to store backups of its files and database where personal information is collected. These services include Google Drive, Dropbox, and WPMU DEV cloud storage.
Additional data
This site gives the option to its administrators to set up third-party destinations for sending and receiving backups. To create these destinations, personal data is stored. This data includes the administrator’s name, email, UID and country for Dropbox accounts and credentials for FTP accounts.
Hummingbird
Third parties
Hummingbird uses the Stackpath Content Delivery Network (CDN). Stackpath may store web log information of site visitors, including IPs, UA, referrer, Location and ISP info of site visitors for 7 days. Files and images served by the CDN may be stored and served from countries other than your own. Stackpath’s privacy policy can be found here.
Other services
Sites on the Seventh Star Network may utilize the following plugins and third-party services other than the ones previously mentioned:
Please note that not all of the following plugins collect user data.
- Appointments+ (uses Google Developer Platform, Google Calendar)
- Astra theme
- Elementor page builder
- Broken Link Checker

- Media Manager Plus (connects to DeviantART, may also connect to Instagram, 500px, Flickr, and other photo/art sites)
- P3 (Plugin Performance Profiler) by GoDaddy.com (sends information about other plugin usage for analysis only; user data is not typically included in this)

Other plugins the Seventh Star Network utilizes do not collect any user information that is not already used by WordPress itself or other plugins mentioned above. For example, the plugin WP-DraftsForFriends is only used for Network site users wanting to send site content in draft forms to friends via email. The user must provide the email, and no information from the recipient is stored on the server. Most Network sites have Administrator-created posts and pages only; users can only submit comments, create user profiles, and upload user images.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
The sites on the Seventh Star Network are hosted by SiteGround, which is registered and operates under the laws of Delaware in the United States of America. Their terms, including privacy policies, are located here.
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service, such as Akismet (as mentioned in the Comments section above).
How we protect your data
In this section you should explain what measures you have taken to protect your users’ data. This could include technical measures such as encryption; security measures such as two factor authentication; and measures such as staff training in data protection. If you have carried out a Privacy Impact Assessment, you can mention it here too.
What data breach procedures we have in place
Seventh Star Network utilizes hosting from SiteGround. SiteGround’s Data Processing Agreement (DPA) responsibilities include timely disclosure of any personal data breach on any of their servers used by clients to affected customers within 72 hours. If any site or portion of a site is affected by a data breach at SiteGround, the Network agrees to disclose to affected users within 72 hours of receiving the notification from SiteGround.
Additionally, all sites on the Seventh Star Network utilize prevention measures including Anti-Malware, Secure Socket Layer (SSL) certificate(s), IP blocking, and spam protection to minimize the chances of a data breach at any of our websites. Sites on the Seventh Star Network are subject to regular updates of themes, plugins, and the WordPress core on a weekly basis at minimum.
What third parties we receive data from
As of August 2018, none of the sites on the Seventh Star Network use advertising. Some of the sites on the Seventh Star Network do utilize affiliate links for iTunes, which involves receiving data from Apple’s iTunes servers to display information about media available for purchase.
