Yu-Gi-Oh! R

Yu-Gi-Oh! R is the title of a spin-off manga series that takes place after the events of Battle City. The story and art is by Akira Ito, an assistant of Kazuki Takahashi, who supervised the series. It was originally published in Shueisha's V-Jump magazine and resulted in a collection of five total manga volumes. Viz Media has licensed the series and began releasing volumes in October 2009 and has released two volumes to date.

Plot

Yakou Tenma, Pegasus J. Crawford's protégé and adopted son, believes his mentor committed suicide after Yuugi Mutou defeated him at Duelist Kingdom. Blaming Yuugi for the loss and seeking revenge, he creates Project R.A. and kidnaps Anzu Mazaki in order to use her to get Pegasus back. Yuugi, Jounouchi, Seto Kaiba and Mokuba Kaiba all fight a series of Duel Professors with the ultimate goal of defeating Yakou once and for all.
