Websites

Finding Yu-Gi-Oh sites on the 'Net isn't as easy as it sounds. Sure, there plenty of them out there, but how many of them have something you haven't heard before? How many of them offer that 'little something' that gets you to come back? Be it summaries of every episode, fantastic fanart, or delicious fanfics to drool over, these nominated websites will have you clicking back for more!

Here's How It Works:

The big, bold text will tell you who nominated the site. Following that, the title of the website and its URL will be listed. Then there will be a review of the site from the person who nominated it. After that, any other person can submit their reviews and opinions of the site. Their name will be in italics. You can submit a review for an already-nominated website using the nomination form.

Darkness Rising is a Yu-Gi-Oh fansite, with its primary focus on fanworks; particularly, my fanfictions. Also included are general series info, character profiles, history of the Millennium Items, and a brief glance at the monsters seen in the anime, manga, and CCG. Links, Anime, and Manga information are also included.

Created for fans around the world, Janime offers up-to-date summaries of the latest Yu-Gi-Oh episodes, and even has summaries and scanlations of the latest Yu-Gi-Oh manga, right up to the end (Volume 38)! They're one of the few sites online with an understandable translation of the new Yu-Gi-Oh manga, Yu-Gi-Oh R, and they even include scans!

Another site on the Seventh-Star.Net collective domain, this is the web's first encyclopedia dedicated exlusively to Yu-Gi-Oh. Created using the same MediaWiki software that powers the popular Wikipedia.org encyclopedia, the site aims to have a massive wealth of information for fans, fanfiction authors, and readers alike-- all of it user-contributed!

Review by Azurite: TLTNW is a modest site dedicated to Seto and Anzu. Its highlight feature is probably the fanart section, which includes some rather good black-and-white fanart, some of it very humorous in nature. There is also a decent selection of fanfiction and website links. The only downside is the fact that it's hosted on Tripod, which litters the pages with advertisements and often requires double back-clicking to get where you were before.

This site is absolutely Yu-Gi-Oh! It has the latest Japanese Episode Screenshots, along with manga pics, more screencaps, individual character pics, and other related things found on Yu-Gi-Oh fansites. Fran hosts it.

Review by Azurite: A stunning Yu-Gi-Oh site that has found its way into every Yu-Gi-Oh anime and manga fan's Favorites list; this graphics-heavy page has a great deal to offer. The down-side is, of course, that since it's so graphics heavy, there's not that much in terms of text information or works-- and there are no ALT text messages to describe what is in pictures in case they are slow loading or not found. Still, an excellent resource for Yu-Gi-Oh fans.

Review by Azurite: More of a multi-fandom collective of tidbits of information than a fansite for any one specific series. Some of the character information is misplaced or biased (there are no Japanese name equivalents; only dub names are given). The majority of the site is lent toward affiliates and topsite rankings, whose image load time can be frustrating, even at high speed! Still, a nicely designed site.

A basic and somewhat resourceful yugioh site with some spoilers in the anime and information on voice cast, deck building, wallpapers, etc.

Review by Azurite: Hosted on another free site (FortuneCity), but it's still got lots of content, including a wealth of screenshots, WAV files from the series, and more. The site hasn't been updated in a while, and the layout is rather childish and tiresome to get through, but it's still a good site for its content.

Nominate A Site!

Yes, you can nominate your own site. But I do have a couple of rules regarding website nomination--

(1) No bashing of Seto and Anzu. You shouldn't have bashing of any kind, really, but if it's "polite," then I'll accept it.

(2) Sites should be G-rated. If there are any sections or content that is not, it must be marked with an appropriate, visible warning. Yaoi and Yuri sites are not acceptable, unless they are in their own sections.

(3) Sites should be relatively complete-- these means no 404 Page Not Founds; no broken images or links, and no Coming Soon!s.

(4) Sites should be pleasing to the eye-- that is, no sharply contrasting text and backgrounds (fuschia on lime green), and try to keep the animated gifs, background midis, and similar things to a minimum.

(5) Sites must must must be Yu-Gi-Oh related! They should be created by fans, rather than businesses that SELL Yu-Gi-Oh cards or products. I'd prefer sites that have some interesting section to them-- something that makes them unique. Please tell me what this feature is, if you can think of one.

(6) When you nominate a site, you must include the following info: Your Member Name, the website title, the website URL, and a brief description of the site-- preferably your OWN review, not something you found off Google/etc.
